TextMate rocks

It is hard to get excited about a text editor, but TextMate is a very impressive editor. I have been using vim for a very long time and it would have been very hard to get me to move off vim. TextMate managed to do it in a day. TextMate provides a good enough reason to use a Mac for all development. A Mac book however, would be a steep investment. The E text editor for Windows solved that problem. It seems to be a clone of TextMate. There is also scribes on Linux. TextMate also supports a bundle for blogging, next step is to explore that and the myriad other features.

My New Mac

Two weeks into using my new Mac Mini, I really like it. The only flaky part is the bluetooth wireless keyboard. For some reason, it keeps losing connectivity, so far my random fixes which include just switching it off and back on again or moving it really close to the Mini have worked. Otherwise the OS has been a pleasure to work with.

There is one feature that just I find amazing, I add my printer and an accurate picture of the printer shows up in the printers panel. Sounds pretty minor, but this is the kind of feedback that would make novice users feel much better about their printer configuration. Printer Panel
